Welcome to the Lovisa prints website and shop, where I sell my fine art prints.

Each print is created on speciality washi paper from Awagami Factory, and all frames are handmade out of repurposed mahogany wood by myself and my husband. The methods and materials used are of archival quality and carefully selected to ensure a long life for the print. Every print is signed and numbered, and comes with a certificate of authenticity.

My photographs focus on capturing emotions, colour and the gentle beauty of the world around us. I take my photographs on a Sony Nex 5 and a Sony A7 IV, and use physical mediums and older methods for playing with light and colour, such as coloured glass and other materials.

I personally experience the world through colours and patterns. I hope for each picture to act as a translation of how I see my surrounding. Please enjoy looking through my online store. You can either order through here directly (shipping within EU), or contact me if you have any questions.

How I make my prints

Printing

I print the photograph on speciality paper by Awagami Factory, a beautiful paper made with bamboo fibers. This archival paper and high quality ink produces a beautiful quality print that will last.

Varnish

I varnish the print using a high quality varnish for art preservation, which gives the print a luster and protects it from UV damage.

Adhesion

I adhere the print to an acid-free backing board to ensure smoothness and a long life. This board is then attached to a sturdy wooden board, preventing any warping and giving the print a beautiful form.

Framing

I frame the mounted print with shellac treated wood, which protects the edges of the print and gives it a warm and modern look. I then paint the back of the print and attach the hanging mechanism.

Frame

Each print is framed using ethically sourced mahogany, each strip having been recovered and repurposed from an old boat deck. This unique wood provides a deep colour and a special charm. The wood is also treated with shellac to richen the colour and protect the wood.
